PRIVATE PILOTS LICENCE (JAR) PPL A
The Private Pilot Licence (PPL) will be your first step into the exciting world of aviation allowing you to fly single engine aircraft under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) in European airspace.
The training follows the JAR syllabus, which is governed in the UK by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). The syllabus encompasses a minimum 45 hours flying training at least 10 of these must be solo. Starting with pre-flight preparation, ground handling, airport and traffic pattern operations, basic and advanced manoeuvre proficiency leading to your first solo circuit at about 15-20 hours, by which time you will need to have a Class 2 medical and have passed the Air Law exam. Then it is time to move on to navigation, landing away at airfields where you can experience short and grass field operations and cross-country flying.
There are 7 ground exams (multiple choice) Air Law, Aircraft General, Navigation, Radiotelephony (RT), Meteorology Human Factors and Flight Performance and Planning. Also a practical Radiotelephony exam, and when all training and exams are complete a Skill test with a flight examiner who will test you on your general flying and navigational skills.

Although the one lump sum is cheaper, it may not be the most cost effective way of paying for your chosen EFG course, taking this into consideration we have put together the instalment packages for you!
4 instalments of either £Price On Request (C152) or £Price On Request (PA28) as follows:
1) 8 hours flying, 6 landings, 10 circuits, 1 ground exam
2) 8 hours flying, 6 landings, 20 circuits, 1 ground exam
3) 10 hours flying, 4 landings, 10 circuits, 3 ground exams
4) 19 hours flying, 4 landings, 2 ground exams
The benefit with the instalment package is that you get flexibility with your money. We all know how many other commitments in life exist, so here at EFG we try make it more cost effective to fly. The package is split up into 4 easy to pay installments each payable when you start them and with a validity of 6 month per installment you don't have too worry about going on holiday and coming back without any hours left!
